Poem #5: The Good Doctor

Updated: Jan 21, 2023

Stay with me tonight.

ree

Tomorrow, we'll figure

everything else out.

Stay with me tonight.

Tomorrow, you'll turn us inside out.

Stay with me tonight.

Don't stop pouring wine

into my glass.

You make time slow down

and make me wish no more would pass.

Stay with me tonight.

I tell you "Kiss me,

love me for a while."

You stop and look at me,

and then your smile says,

"Stay with me tonight."

I'm thankful that

you're such a gentleman,

and then weeks go by,

and I wonder where you've been.

That sounds about right.

You say you're scared

and how were you to know,

that this would happen

and you're afraid to let it show.

Please give up this fight.

I've seen who you are.

I know your lows and highs.

Don't complicate

what's simple, Gemini.

Step outside your dark and into my light.

I promise I will always

let you be free,

as long as you

can do the same for me.

It's so clearly black and white.

Stay with me tonight.
