3-Word Prompt: Glitter, Frog, Brouhaha

Her pink gown

shimmers against

the lake's reflection.

It slips from her shoulders

down her smooth skin

and she dives into the water.

Wearing nothing but

a crown

and a bit of glitter

in her eyes,

she dives

again and again,

searching the familiar pool

for the frog

that will be her prince.

Exhausted, wet,

and out of breath,

her hair dripping,

her lips cold,

she sighs.

After thousands

of days of

the same, wet routine,

she comes up empty again,

fruitless,

frog-less.

Her breathing slows

and she senses she's not alone.

A brouhaha is brewing,

a cauldron of curiosities, and

an ethereal elixir evaporates

into the air.

And there -

across her regimented body of water ...

she discovers another lake.
